A refurbishment contract for the new ARV clinic, located in Cullinan, was awarded to our company, Bronzegate (Pty) Ltd.

The Clinic will consist of a pharmacy, dietician's office, five councelling rooms, three consultation rooms, group counselling area, social worker's office, data room, reception area, records room, waiting area, staff meeting room, staff office  patient toilet facilities (one fully equipped paraplegic toilet), staff toilets and two store rooms.

The clinic is expected to open, ahead of scheduled time, at the end of August 2006.

Bronzegate is proud to launch our SA Eco-Awareness initiative.

The main goal of the initiative is to reduce the impact on the environment that traditional business practices leave.
Even though Bronzegate has been doing this we have decided to give our eco-awareness initiative a name and have drawn up an Eco Policy that we as a business adhere to.

We would like to invite other businesses to join this initiative and make their desire to build a cleaner and brighter future possible for everyone on earth.

Introduction 

One of the less-publicised but most powerful insights of ecological footprint methods is that, contrary to many people's assumptions, it is human use of renewable resources, not of non-renewable ones, that poses the real sustainability crisis.
Nature can restore renewable resources at a certain rate. Humans consistently and increasingly consume renewables faster than ecosystems can restore them.  The SA Eco-Awareness initiative encourages the reuse of materials and resources wherever possible.
 
The SA Eco-Awareness initiative encourages the continued reduction of the carbon foot print and empower local communities by using materials and resources from local businesses.  By buying locally produced materials you immediately eliminate the unnecessary green house gasses produced during the transportation of goods to where its required.  Organisations can achieve the same advantages by employing or encouraging employees to live locally to where they are working.

Policy Statement

The company will take a pro-active and balanced approach to managing our business activities in an environmentally responsible way.

We are committed to:

  • Continual improvement in our environmental performance;
  • Continual  reduction of carbon footprint in your business activities
  • Raising environmental awareness throughout the company;
  • Developing a culture in which protection of the environment is a common objective shared with clients, contractors, suppliers and partners, and the communities in which we operate;
  • Complying with all applicable environmental legislation in the areas in which we operate; and
  • Reporting on our environmental performance on an annual basis.

In support of this:

Each Business Unit will ensure that an environmental management system is maintained that demonstratesSA Eco Aware effective arrangements for:
  • General management responsibilities;
  • Developing and implementing strategies to meet the company's environmental policy commitments;
  • Setting of objectives and targets where appropriate;
  • Environmental training;
  • Communication;
  • Encouraging and empowering individual employees to adopt environmentally-responsible working practices;
  • Monitoring and review;
  • Reporting.

Applicability

This policy applies globally and its principles apply in all areas of the group’s business.
